Be it RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, THE SENATE CONCURRING HEREIN, that there shall be submitted to the electors of the State for adoption or rejection at the general election next occurring at least 6 months after the adoption of this resolution a proposition to amend Article XIV of the Illinois Constitution by changing Section 3 as follows: ARTICLE XIV CONSTITUTIONAL REVISION SECTION 3. CITIZEN INITIATIVE FOR CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENTS Amendments to this Constitution may be proposed by a petition signed by a number of electors equal in number to at least eight percent of the total votes cast for candidates for Governor in the preceding gubernatorial election. The initiative process shall not be used for the proposal, modification, or repeal of any portion of the Bill of Rights of this Constitution or to modify the initiative process for proposing amendments to this Constitution.
