"Mr. Speaker and Ladies and Gentlemen of the House, this bill is similar to the fruit growers act that was passed a year ago by this honorable body, the right for a hearing on the referendum on any marketing of any program or amendment to an existing program proposed by the Director of the Department of Agriculture or by the petition of 20% or 200, whichever is less of the affected egg producers. It establishes an egg marketing program for the administrative adopted program and provides for the assessment of producing to defray the cost of the adminis- tration. This is by referendum only and to my knowledge, there is no opposition by the egg producers in the State of Illinois as they are asking for this and I would ask for your favorable support and consideration."

What Senate Amendment Number Two and Num- ber Three do, Representative Barry, this is in relation to this Coroner's bill in the setting of the fee for the cor- oner's bill and the Senate has amended the bill that we sent over to provide a I don't want to call it a fee, but that's what it is. A flat $100.00 for each case that is heard with the maximum of $500.00 for any multiple cases ah instead of the $50.00 that we sent over. We sent the bill over with $50.00 a day and really a day's work deter- mined up to the local board, however, the Senate has mend- ed it a flat fee of $100.00 whether the coroner would spend one day, two days or however many he might spend and he'd still only be entitled to draw $100.00 for the case. Now, this would entitle the counties under 50,000 population."
