Now I think we get to the root of the, perhaps, the ultimate evil of this Bill. Is this simply an attempt to transfer the cost of these programs from the county to the State Department of Corrections? ls that what youfre up to?' This would also include sexual offenders so that they have some type of a counseling. You're then brought back to court and in court what happens is the judge makes a determination as to what is needed for that juvenile offender. think that in that 45 days would be a good time to begin this counseling ., Wennlund: nHave you considered whether or not you miqht have a conflict of interest sponsoring this legislation?e Hoffman, ''I no longer work ior probation, no longer work for detention, no I don't think have a conflict of interest. Also just to point out the Department of Corrections has indicated would be an added cost, there wouldn't be an additional cost because they'd use existing employees.''
