"HOUSE RESOLUTION 318, offered by Representatives Balthis and Daniels. WHEREAS, Lynn G. Brenne spent more than 50 years of his life in public service to his county, the State of Illinois and his local community; and WHEREAS, Mr. Brenne served as an Air Force radar officer during World War II in the Pacific theater, participating in the Saipan, Iwo Jima and Okinawa campaigns; and WHEREAS, Mr. Brenne enjoyed a 30-year executive career in freight handling and cargo handling with United Airlines after holding traffic management positions with the Greyhound Corporation; and WHEREAS, Mr. Brenne was elected to the Illinois House of Representatives 16 STATE OF ILLINOIS 88th GENERAL ASSEMBLY HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES TRANSCRIPTION DEBATE 30th Legislative Day March 24, 1993 in 1971, where he served on two transportation committees; and WHEREAS, Mr. Brenne served five terms as a Park Forest village trustee, was chairman of the Park Forest Planning Commission and organized the village's first Community Chest and library districts; and WHEREAS, Mr. Brenne was president of the Regional Association of South Cook-Will County Municipalities, chairman of the Rich Township Personal Services Commission, a director of the Park Forest Aqua Center, Park Forest Chamber of Commerce and Park Forest College (now Governors State University), and was a member of the executive board of Calumet Council, Boy Scouts of America; and WHEREAS, Mr. Brenne served in the Rich Township Assessor's office, was regional affairs officer for the Regional Transportation Authority in south suburban Cook County, was president of the Suburban Cook County Area Agency on Aging, and organized the Rich Township Senior Wheels, a transportation service for the elderly; and WHEREAS, The House was saddened to learn of Mr. Brenne's death on February 5, 1993, at the age of 81; therefore be it RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE EIGHTY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we express our deep sorrow at the death of former State Representative Lynn G. Brenne, offer our sincere sympathy to his wife, Wilma, and family, and join his friends in honoring his memory; and be further RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this preamble and resolution be presented to Mrs. Wilma Brenne as an indication of our sorrow and regret at the passing of such a distinguished and valuable public servant.
