Reverend Kolbert: "I'm honored to be here. I have a habit of journaling to God every morning, and I consider that Person that I journal to my holy friend. And this morning I asked, 'what would You have me say to them?', and the answer came back to 'Sharon', my prophet, address Me as Holy God for there are many gods, False gods. Call upon My presence through praise and Thanksgiving. Cast out fear, anger and ignorance so that there is room for the holy. Call upon My wisdom rather than human knowledge for my wisdom is far greater even than the sincere wisdom of Solomon, in his humanness he still missed the mark. Call them to rise above the norm to consider their actions, consider how laws will affect the innocent the powerless. Remind them they are here to do that which is good. Cleave to the best that which is holy, not evil. Remind them that education and college degrees are not above My wisdom but merely tools to discover it. Remind them that I love them all even their opponents and that I seek harmony and justice. To arrive at that they will need courage, holy courage. Remind them that in My sight as man, woman, junior, senior, race, creed they are equal. They are precious to me and I expect them, I expect you to treat each other as You want to be treated. I rise to report on a matter of great importance to 2 STATE OF ILLINOIS 90TH GENERAL ASSEMBLY HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES TRANSCRIPTION DEBATE 7th Legislative Day January 23, 1997 the citizens of our state. In today's Chicago Tribune and I think it is something that the citizens would all be well advised to be aware of, if this is the case. There is a picture on the front page of our Governor, who is a fine Governor and gave a fine State of The State Address yesterday, and under the top of the picture there's a caption that reads 'Blue Print For 1998'. And if we examine the picture carefully there is a certain State House Member on the Governor's right side, who shares the Governors name, only it's his first name. And I'm wondering if the citizens of this state under 'Blue Print For 1998' should be advised of a possibility of an Edgar-Edgar ticket. And if in the spirit of bipartisanship if this is the way our state is going to move forward, I would be glad, for one, to give this a very serious consideration. Thank you."

If you look to the left of that newspaper article, it talks about a new law convicts a killer, which talks about legislation passed here in the last General Assembly that's made a significant difference in the conviction of 'gang members'. And I just want to compliment my past seatmate, Representative Durkin for this fine article, and you might want to read it. Because it talks about how we as Members of the General Assembly can make a difference in the lives of the citizens of this state. And I think we all ought to be proud that our Members can do such good work down here, and I congratulate them."
