Speaker Turner: "The Gentleman from McLean, Representative Brady, for what reason do you rise?"

Dan Brady (R)

"A point of personal privilege, Mr. Speaker."

Arthur L. Turner (D)

"State your point."

Dan Brady (R)

"Thank you very much. Ladies and Gentlemen of the House, would you please join me in welcoming to Springfield a group from my district from the Bloomington Parks and Recreation Department, a SOAR group that is here touring the Capitol today to see us here in Springfield. How about a nice round of applause for the group from Bloomington Parks and Recreation? Up here in the gallery." 09500095.doc 1 STATE OF ILLINOIS 95th GENERAL ASSEMBLY HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES TRANSCRIPTION DEBATE 95th Legislative Day 7/18/2007

"Welcome to Springfield. Mr. Clerk, Agreed Resolutions."

Bolin

"Agreed Resolutions. House Resolution 606 and House Resolution 607, offered by Representative Black. House Resolution 608, offered by Representative Reis. House Resolution 609, offered by Representative Kosel. And House Resolution 610, offered by Representative Brauer.

Arthur L. Turner (D)

"Representative Currie mores for the adoption of the Agreed Resolutions. All those in favor should say 'aye'; all those opposed say 'no'. The opinion of the Chair is the 'ayes' have it. And the Resolutions are adopted. The Gentleman from Champaign, Representative Rose, for what reason do you rise?"

Chapin Rose (R)

"Ladies and Gentlemen, a point of personal privilege if I may, have the attention of the Body. A little under a month ago, the chief deputy sheriff of the Douglas County Sheriff's Office was shot following a high-speed chase in what ended a hostage situation at Arcola National… or the Arcola Bank… the First Illinois Bank in Arcola. Chief Deputy Tommy Martin passed away yesterday. And he spent a month in intensive care at Carle Hospital. He's a father of two. Funeral arrangements are incomplete, but every one of is in this Chamber, I think, knows how much those who serve us in uniform do to protect our society. And certainly, Tommy Martin was doing just that. And if I may asked the Body for a moment of silence in honor of Chief Deputy Tommy Martin and all of… officers who've been killed in the line of duty. Thank you, Mr. Speaker. Thank you." 09500095.doc 2 STATE OF ILLINOIS 95th GENERAL ASSEMBLY HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES TRANSCRIPTION DEBATE 95th Legislative Day 7/18/2007
