"Thank you very much, Mr. Speaker and Ladies and Gentlemen of the House. I… I take my job here very seriously, I don’t take myself seriously all the time, certainly. And I understand, Mr. Speaker, that you have to operate under certain time constraints. But many of us have a life that goes beyond this chamber. My father is ninety (90) years old. The good days and the bad days are… bad days are outnumbering the good days. He lives in Mesa, Arizona and I had tried to anticipate Special Sessions and what have you as best I could. In this day and age when airline tickets are nonrefundable and nonexchangeable and somewhat more expensive than they were a year ago. I will be leaving Sunday night to spend next week with my father in Mesa, Arizona. I will respectfully ask that I be excused from the Session. I don’t like to miss any Sessions, but in… in each life you have to make certain choices and you adopt certain priorities and I was blessed and am blessed with a phenomenal father, my… my personal hero.
