"Thank you, Mr. Speaker. I rise in full support of this Resolution. On March 24, 2014, the Kendall County Kencom Center received a call about a 2-year-old boy who was missing. And two of those officers who are with us today, and we have five total of the Kendall County Sheriff's Office: Joe Melchiori, Greg Shadle. And we also have, with the Oswego Police Department, Michael Torrance, Steven Lawrence, and Justin Pan. On this cold, frigid day, these officers risked life and limb to enter into a retention pond, as the arrived on scene and they found this 2-year-old kid lying down in this retention pond. These officers entered that frigid water, pulled that kid out, performed CPR, and gave this kid a fighting chance. I am honored that I've worked with all five of these guys. These guys have had my back and I fully support them. And I ask the House Resolution 997 be entered into the record and I ask that all the Members be signed on as well. And to you guys up there, we salute you and be safe."
