"Mr. Speaker, unfortunately, I have some very sad news, this afternoon. Yesterday evening, one of Tazewell County's finest was lost in the line of duty. Sheriff Deputy Craig Whisenand, a 15-year veteran of the Tazewell County Sheriff’s Department, was responding to a disturbance call and was involved in an accident that took his life. Deputy Whisenand 09900076.docx 3 STATE OF ILLINOIS 99th GENERAL ASSEMBLY HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES TRANSCRIPTION DEBATE 76th Legislative Day 8/11/2015 leaves behind two children, a stepchild, a wife, many family members, many, many friends and all of his brothers and sisters of the Tazewell County Sheriff’s Office, all of whom are really struggling right now because of this tragedy. And I would ask that this Body keep them and their families in their prayers right now, thoughts and prayers, as they go through this unbelievably horrific sad period. I’m sure that this Body will take this issue on further in the future and will be talking about it. But for now, Mr. Speaker, I would like to ask that this Body take a moment of silence for Deputy Whisenand and his family and all of his loved ones."

Arthur Turner (D)

"The Body will take a moment of silence. Thank you, Members and thank you, Representative Unes. Mr. Clerk, committee announcements."
