Ladies and Gentlemen of the Senate, it's my honor to have a -- my Page for the Day, a constituent, Shira Tova Piltz, with me today. She is fourteen years old. She is in ninth grade. She goes to Hanna Sacks Bais Yaakov High School. She's here with her father, Ira Piltz, who's a community leader in my district. Shira Tova's interests include singing, reading, and history. Her hobbies include Tai Kwon Do. And I'll say, she accompanied me to two of my meetings today; she explained what happened there better than I did, so she has a bright future ahead of her. So please join me in welcoming them to the Illinois State Senate.
PRESIDING OFFICER: (SENATOR HUNTER) Welcome to the Senate. Leader Brady, what purpose do you seek recognition?
Thank you, Madam President. If I could have the attention of the Ladies and Gentlemen of the Senate. I'd like to take a moment to recognize someone who I've known for over twenty-five years. Most of us have had the pleasure of working with him. He has been dedicated to trying to make health care in Illinois affordable and accessible on behalf of his clients and the people of Illinois. Whether you agreed with him or disagreed with him, I think we all felt that he dealt professionally, and know he dealt professionally, and enjoyed at least learning the knowledge that he possessed on the issues either way. Some of you know that he has recently announced his retirement and tonight there will be a party for him at the Inn of {sic} (at) 835 and I'd ask you to join us from 5 to 7. But I'd like to take a moment and recognize this gentleman, who's sitting in the gallery with his son, 6 STATE OF ILLINOIS 101st GENERAL ASSEMBLY REGULAR SESSION SENATE TRANSCRIPT 58th Legislative Day 10/28/2019 daughter, and wife, and join me in congratulating Larry Barry on a successful career.
