Today is National Fentanyl Awareness Day, and it was established in remembrance of loved ones that have died from fentanyl poisoning. Fentanyl is a single -- sin -- single deadliest drug threat in our nation has ever encountered, and it's everywhere and has affected our entire State, from the largest population in the metropolitan area to rural communities. We must take every opportunity to talk about this poison that's claiming the lives of our children, in the hundreds, every day. It's the leading cause of death for Americans under fifty; more than heart disease, more than cancer, more than homicide, and more than suicide. Only two milligrams of Fentanyl is considered deadly. This deadly drug is affected hundreds of thousands, as well as, our loved ones. This is a day of coordinated response and awareness and affected family members that they're sharing their lived experiences to warn youth and public who are totally unaware of this imminent danger.
