Today, I would like to welcome a group of Pike County High School students. They are part of the Pike County CEO Group. Pike County CEO was established in the fall of 2016 with the support of local business community partners and area schools. The purpose is to create practical learning opportunities for students. More than a business course, CEO allows students to learn from local business leaders and develop workforce skills and problem solving, teamwork, self-motivation, responsibility, communication and professionalism which are the heart of the student's development throughout the experience. So, please join me in welcoming the Pike County CEO.

Thank you, Mr. President. Today, I too, want to welcome a class that's here from the Brickton Montessori School on Catalpa in Chicago. We have 13 middle school students visiting Springfield for the first time. They've just been studying their government classes this semester. They're accompanied by one of their teachers, Ann {sic} (Anna) Carter Goldsmith, and some other ones. So, I just like everyone to help me give them a warm Springfield welcome.

So, we have another departure that's leaving our Senate family here. Natalie Bak has been with -- has been with the Senate for 4 years. She has been working with me communications have done an amazing job. And she is going to be leaving us after today. She was 4 years here with the Senate. She has -- she's a major in political science, peace and justice studies, double major at Villanova University. She has a cat named Lola. And also, she is here with her partner. Her partner Shelby is here. Stand up, Shelby. So just wanted to, you know, give a warm regard to Natalie 4 STATE OF ILLINOIS 104th GENERAL ASSEMBLY REGULAR SESSION SENATE TRANSCRIPT 75th Legislative Day 2/19/2026 and wish her the best. She is going to be going to her new job is going to be at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign. So, if we could just give her a round of applause and thank you for all the work you've done with us.
