During the past year, Faith, Hope and Love's over 1 four hundred volunteer chaplains logqed over fifty thousand volunteer hours at Illinoës correctional centers and over ten . thousand volunteer hours at county jails: as well as operating a program for troubled youth and a halfway house in Peoria for recently released prisoners. When Faith, Hope and Love volunteer I Howard Getz served as a nissionary in Russla, he took time to continue his prison ninistry by visiting wlth prtsoners in the corrections system ln the Republic of Karelia in northWestern Russia. Karelian officials werq so impressed with Faith: Hope and Love's work they expressed great interest in visiting the United ! States to observe the operation of the corrections system in this country.
