If I could have the attention of the Members of the Senate. It is my great pleasure, my great honor, to have two of my high schools represented here today. And this is the first one of those. We have the Class 3A State Football Champions, the Byron Tigers. And I'd appreciate it if you'd welcome them here to Springfield today. The -- the Tigers won their championship game over a team by the name of St. Joseph-Ogden with a score of forty-one to eight in the State Championship Finals. It's pretty decisive. This team also went fourteen and 0 this season. Their Head Coach, a guy by the name of Everett Stine, is not able to be with us today. He's kind of like our own coach, Dave Luechtefeld, who is coaching but has retired from the teaching profession, so he's out of town. We do have with us Brad Miller today, who is an assistant coach. But also, I think it's important to point out that this year this football team, the Byron Tigers, scored six hundred and seventy-three points this season. And if you do your math real quickly that's better than a point a minute per football game. So, quite an honor. Thank you, Coach. And thank you, members. Now we also have another team that's going to be filtering in in just a moment. The Class 2A Champs. Thanks, guys. If I could have your attention once again. This is the Class 2A State Football Champions. Stillman Valley, Illinois. The Stillman Valley Cardinals. Would you please join me in welcoming them to the Senate today? Now, the interesting thing is Stillman Valley and Byron are less than five miles apart. So these kids know each other quite well, and in fact, played during the course of the year, but we're not going to talk about the outcome of that game. But the Stillman Valley Cardinals went twelve and two this year. And certainly went to the State Tournament with one goal in mind and that was to win it. And they scored a twenty-eight-to-zero victory over the Meridian Hawks, which are represented by Senator Duane Noland, right there on the front. And the score was tied in the beginning, but they were able to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat. Now, there are a couple of different interesting things here as well. And I was wishing -- one of the players is a young man by the name of Pat Babcock that signed a full-ride scholarship to play football at the U of I next year, but who also just won the State Championship in his weight class for wrestling and is going for, hopefully, a State Championship in the shot put. And along with him we have another State Championship wrestler in this group, a young man by the name of Cody Rudsell, down here on the left end, if I'm not mistaken, who also won in his weight division, a hundred-and-nineteen-pound class. And I would like to introduce to you today, Coach Mike Lalor, who's a second-year Head Coach of Stillman Valley. Coach, do you have any comments? Thank you, Coach. Thank you, Ladies and Gentlemen of the Senate. And, again, thank you and -- to the Stillman Valley Cardinals and the Byron Tigers for making the trip down here today. These young men that you've seen today certainly do exemplify student athletes in our high schools throughout the State. So, thank you very much.
