Senate Joint Resolution No. 2 recreates the bipartisan, bicameral Growth Task Force that John Maitland ably chaired for 23 STATE OF ILLINOIS 92ND GENERAL ASSEMBLY REGULAR SESSION SENATE TRANSCRIPT 15th Legislative Day March 21, 2001 the last two years. We have a number of bills beginning to emerge from the House that would be coordinated and reviewed by the Growth Task Force, and we need to -- because of the change of the General Assembly, we need to renew it. The appointment procedures are precisely the same as last time. I know of no opposition. Would appreciate this Body's endorsing the reconfiguration and reinstitution of the Growth Task Force.

Governor Ryan led a trade mission, which I was on, and we opened an office in -- in South Africa, a trade office for Illinois. And we -- today we have the Ambassador here with us. The Ambassador is a very warm, charming person.
