If I could have your attention, we have a -- I’m really delighted to introduce a -- a very special group of young women who made some -- did a remarkable accomplishment. Like to introduce you to the Lady Knights of A-C Central/Virginia High School. These young ladies behind me and their coach and staff received second place in the State volleyball tournament at ISU back in November. And I’d like to just quickly introduce these young ladies and their 3 STATE OF ILLINOIS 96th GENERAL ASSEMBLY REGULAR SESSION SENATE TRANSCRIPT 15th Legislative Day 2/19/2009 coach. First of all, their coach is Kristy VanMeter. Hold your hand up, Kristy, if you would. And -- and ladies, as I introduce you, if you would, just hold your hands up. Kayla Birdsell. Kelsey Honkala. Taylor Jacobs. Megan Bergerud. Thank you. Anna Herzberger. Samantha Morton. Sammy Jo Petefish. Victoria Pherigo. Breanna Reichert. Kate Williams. Carly Abbott. Madalyn Allen. Courtney Cave. Taylor Jokisch. Jill Stock. And Brittany Stribling. These young ladies finished the season with a 34 and 8 record, and second place in the State tournament at Redbird Arena in Bloomington. The team had the highest finish of any team in school history. This team exhibited the highest level of sportsmanship, leadership and dedication. I might also add, there are only three seniors on this squad. The three seniors, hold your hands up if you would, please. There’s your three seniors. You can see we have a lot of juniors and underclassmen. So, Ladies and Gentlemen, next year look out, because these ladies are going to be back. And I’d like everybody to welcome them here to the Illinois Senate this morning. I’d also like the head coach to just say a few words as well.

And his name is Owen Platt. And he goes to Forest Bluff School in Lake Bluff. He’s twelve years old and in grade six. And his hobbies are rock climbing, skiing, squash, tennis, hiking and camping. He has received the award of a surgeon in the Navy…? He wants to become an oral surgeon. I’m sorry. His future goal is to become an oral surgeon in the Navy. He obviously is well ahead of -- of many of us. So, I want to welcome him as Page for a Day in the Illinois Senate. And thank you so much, Owen.
