Senator McCarter, for your announcement. 3 STATE OF ILLINOIS 97th GENERAL ASSEMBLY REGULAR SESSION SENATE TRANSCRIPT 130th Legislative Day 11/27/2012 SENATOR McCARTER: It's with a heavy heart and deep sadness that I announce the tragic death of Trooper Kyle Deatherage. Trooper Deatherage, while conducting a traffic stop yesterday morning at 9 a.m., was killed in the line of duty when he was struck by a - - a semi on I-55, milepost 62. He was pronounced dead at the scene. He's been a member of the Illinois State Police since May 31st of '09. Trooper Deatherage was assigned to District 18 as a motorcycle officer. Trooper Deatherage was thirty-two years old and is survived by his two young children and his wife, Sarah. I'd like to ask this -- in honor of Trooper Deatherage for a moment of silence.
