PRESIDING OFFICER: (SENATOR SULLIVAN) Ladies and Gentlemen, if I could have your attention, I'm going to turn the podium over to Senator McCann for a special introduction here. Senator McCann. SENATOR McCANN: Thank you, Mr. President. I appreciate the honor and the privilege to be here with you today. Ladies and Gentlemen of the Chamber, if I can have your attention, please. If you'll direct your attention up here -- yeah. Thank you, Mr. President. You know how it's done. Thank you, sir. I'd like to introduce your 3 STATE OF ILLINOIS 98th GENERAL ASSEMBLY REGULAR SESSION SENATE TRANSCRIPT 85th Legislative Day 2/18/2014 Illinois Class 5A State Championship Football Team. Coach Ken Leonard and his 14 and 0 Cyclones were able to -- to deny Montini's drive for five and prove that, once again, we not only know how to play football south of I-80, we know how to bring championships back south of I-80. Yes. 14 and 0. This is the fourth State Championship for this team since 2008. And I think it's very interesting to note that Coach Ken Leonard's son, Derek Leonard, coached the Class 4A Championship Rochester Rockets. They are the first duo, father/son duo, to accomplish this in the same year in the State of Illinois' history. So I hope that you'll agree with me that this is not the culmination of the greatness for these young men, but just the beginning, just the foundation of many great things to come. And I hope you'll join me in welcoming them to the Illinois Senate. Thank you, gentlemen. Thank you for the privilege, Mr. President.

COACH KEN LEONARD

(Remarks by Coach Ken Leonard)

She's a freshman from New Trier High School, from Glencoe. She's in the Student Senate. She just wants to make a difference in this world. Isn't that refreshing? Most people say, what do you want to be? She just wants to make a difference. And she's a Blackhawks fan.
