Thank you, Mr. President. Today, January 15th, is the one hundred and seventh anniversary of the founding of my sorority, the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, on the campus of Howard University in Washington, D.C. And for one hundred and seven years, the nation's oldest African American sorority has been of service to all mankind. This organization is being recognized in Congress and all fifty states today. And also, today, January 15th, is the actual birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., who was a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated, who -- who is the brother -- the brothers to the women of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority. So we basically encourage you to honor Dr. King on January 19th by making it a day of service. Thank you very much, Mr. President.

John M. Sullivan (D)
