I don't want to escalate this at all, but I think what we are just seeing right now is kind of the case that the General Assembly has let happen with school boards and people throughout the state. There's rules. We don't know what the rules are. They change. We're not having any hearings on the rules. We're not voting on them. I was at a school board meeting on Thursday. Afterwards, the school board president actually resigned, citing threats. I know there's been school board members in other places that have resigned, and it's all because of this. It's not March of 2020. We've had no transparency on any of this. We've had no hearings on the Governor's mitigations. And it would be great if we could just work together and actually vote on some of the things that we were supposed to do so we don't have to deal with the TRO, so we don't have to deal with threats to school board members, so we don't have parents on both sides of this equation that really don't know what to grasp for for answers. I mean, this is a small microcosm of a case that we're allowing to happen throughout the state, and I'm hopeful… I'm hopeful that we can stay through the storm and maybe work on some of this stuff. Ladley, who passed away on January 15, 2022. Ronald was born in Springfield on May 24, 1938. He graduated from Illinois College with a degree in business, history, and education. Ron enjoyed a long and distinguished career as a local real estate broker and as an owner of real estate. But he was more happiest when he could share his knowledge with others by helping individuals start their own real estate careers. He took an interest in his community by volunteering and serving on the boards of SPARC, Springfield Association for Retarded Citizens, United Cerebral Palsy, the Springfield Jaycees, the Rotary Club of Springfield, and the American Red Cross. He served as chairman of the Illinois Historic Sites Commission, the Springfield Historic Sites Commission, and the Sangamon County Historical Society. He was actively and personally involved in community service. He volunteered as a tour guide for the Clayville Historical Site in Pleasant Plains and for the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library. In addition to Ronald's community involvement, his personal achievements were quite extensive. He was president of the Capitol Area of Realtors in 1987, and received the Realtor of the Year Award in 1989. He was honored with the Realtor Hall of Fame Award in 1995. Sorry, I'm getting a little choked up because I do know… I did know him. Ron also influenced legislation to provide state workers with health benefits. He was Supervisor of Research Studies for the Illinois State Superintendents of Public Instruction and served as an analysis of schools for the Illinois Department of Education.
