I'm also a Representative, but our corporate body is a tad farther away. In fact, Jesus Christ sits at the righthand of the throne of the Father there. "Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Members of the House. I have a personal interest in this Bill. Representative Daley was asked to put in legislation. Last summer there was a young girl by the name of Anna Marie DeLeo, who purchased... who was a 15 year old girl, who purchased a bus ticket at the Greyhound bus station in Chicago, Illinois. After being lost for approximately 12 or 14 days in the western states of the great U.S.A., the State's Attorney of Cook County, and the Illinois State Police were checking bus stations and distributing photographs of this young lady. When she purchased a bus ticket at the Greyhound bus station in Chicago, the ticket agent asked this young girl, with her guitar and knap sack in hand, if she was she old enough to travel in her state, never checking any I.D. The young lady said that she left her driver's license in the car and she was still able to purchase a bus ticket. The grievance 6 35th Legislative Day STATE OF ILLINOIS 86th GENERAL ASSEMBLY HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES TRANSCRIPTION DEBATE May 4, 1989 that this family went through, the heartache for 12 or 14 days came to a climactic ending, when this girl was found alive in Oregon. This is not a joke this Legislation. This Legislation is to protect children, minor children leaving these facilities, O'Hare airport, Trailway bus station, Greyhound bus stations. This piece of Legislation is very important where we can have some sort of index, and some sort of control on children leaving the State of Illinois. And I urge a 'yes' vote in this matter."
