"Thank you, and the question from, Representative Mays. To your knowledge Representative, are there any offices in the whole state that are funded administratively by a General Revenue Fund?"

"...Probably not. But the for example let me put it this way. The offices that are in operation such as Public Health... Public Aid etcetera. All have those line items for those office provisions embodied in them. This is no different except that the money comes from...since unemployment comp bureau of employment security is all federal funds we have to provide for the utilities and the office space."

"Does that mean no?"

"I guess."

"Okay, to the Amendment Madam Speaker and Ladies and Gentlemen of the House. What we have here is a relatively minor Amendment for $16,000 in General Revenue Funds. And on the dollars along I guess you can't really argue, but it's a precedent. I think that we're going to be setting with this move that is absolutely the wrong way to go. Every other office in the entire State of Illinois is funded either through federal funds, or through statewide administrative account funds within the Department Employment Security. By breaching that precedent with this one I think we're setting a bad tone and going the wrong directions. I would urge a 'no' vote, and a Roll Call on this Amendment."
