It would increase duty disability benefits for police officers. Creates an occupational disability benefit for police officers who are disabled by heart disease. Provides for the initiation of the annual increase in the retirement benefits at age 55 instead of the current age of 60. As far as I know it's worked out with the City of Chicago. It was suggested by Mayor Daley and F.O.P. and they worked together on this Bill and I would appreciate favorable passage."

The headline on this news release says, 'Black turns his back on retired teachers' Goes on to say the following: State Representative Bill Black turned his back on retired teachers, refusing to support funding that will protect their health insurance coverage. He voted 'no', on a plan to fund retired teachers health insurance. Since I am a retired teacher and my wife is a teacher, I challenge any of you on that side of the aisle, show me a record of that vote, on that specific question. Don't give me any nonsense about a procedural vote, if you're going to put this crap out, stand behind it. Show me the specific vote. You can't do it and that's what you call truth.
