"Thank you. It is an honor and privilege to speak with you here today. As a state officer, I've traveled around the State of Illinois. I've noticed a lot that agriculture is very important in today's society, and I'm very glad to speak with you about it today. We can all agree that food is very important in today's society, but we cannot all agree that agriculture is important. Why is that? You know when you go to buy your food, everybody thinks that food is expensive, you know, and you can easily rack up a hundred bucks in food very easily. But when you compare that to other countries, you know it's not so bad in the United States. Compared to India, they spent 56% of their annual income on food alone. When you compare that to the United States who spends 10-11% of their annual income on food, it's not so bad. I'm here representing the F.F.A, and its 13,700 members statewide, I'm very proud of that, and the 452 thousand members nationwide. Now we conduct chapter visits throughout the year where we promote the premiere leadership and personal growth and career success, which is vital in today's society. "Thank you, Speaker, Members of the House. I rise on what I think is a pretty important issue to face this General Assembly, this House of Representatives. Yesterday in one of our House committees, apparently somebody had forged the signature of another person on a witness slip, suggesting that that person wanted to be on record in favor of a particular House Bill. Well, we all know forgery is a pretty serious offense. In fact, it's a criminal offense. And I would hope, Speaker, that we would be able to make sure that the committee records reflect the fact that that witness slip was a forged slip and that the records would not continue to contain that particular slip. Further, I would hope that the committee, when it next convenes, would want to read into the record the information that that particular witness slip was read in error, as it was a forged witness slip. I would hope further, that Committee Chairs would be careful to make sure that those in Committee Hearing Rooms, recognize that they are only entitled to sign their own names to witness slips, unless they have some kind of confirmation, written confirmation from someone else who wishes to be listed as well. Finally, I would imagine that the Sangamon County State's Attorney is looking into this particular offense. "In the underlying Bill, while it talks about the disclosure of the ATM surcharges, where they have to declare, where the ATM owners would have to declare all the fees that are, you know, being charged. But it's no public fees. The only fee that this Amendment is, where the owner of the ATM would have to pay the fee. All bank owned ATM's right now, pay a fee for the administering through the Commissioner of Banks. And this is being added as the owner of the ATMs. It is not a fee to the general public."
