We have an opportunity today to cut state spending, where just about every taxpayer would agree and I believe that's cutting for ourselves. We have a House Bill 3188, sponsored on your side of the aisle by Representative Gabel, which calls for a General Assembly to take 12 furlough days and also to prohibit us from taking a cost-of-living increase next year and this Bill is still stuck in Concurrence. Twelve furlough days would be 3100 hours savings per Member and blocking a cost-of-living increase would be a $600 per Member savings. This… this would be a great example to the rest of the public that we will… are taking swift action to block our own pay increases. However, 3188 is stuck in Concurrence since March.
