PRESIDING OFFICER: (SENATOR LINK) With leave of the Body, we'll turn to Supplemental Calendar No. 1. Senate Resolution 1703. President Cullerton. Mr. Secretary, please read the resolution.
Senate Resolution 1703, offered by President Cullerton.
PRESIDING OFFICER: (SENATOR LINK) President Cullerton, on your resolution.
Thank you, Mr. President, Members of the Senate. Senate Resolution 1703 names May 9th as "Loyola University Chicago Day" to congratulate Loyola for an outstanding basketball season, which led the Loyola Ramblers to the Final Four. So tomorrow is going to be Loyola Day. If you're not familiar with Loyola, of course, it's a Jesuit school founded in 1870, with over sixteen thousand students, a hundred and fifty thousand alumni, eighty-five 9 STATE OF ILLINOIS 100th GENERAL ASSEMBLY REGULAR SESSION SENATE TRANSCRIPT 120th Legislative Day 5/8/2018 thousand of which are in the Chicago area. And of course, their basketball team completed a season of 28 and 5 and went to the Final Four. Now, there's a Chaplain of the team, Sister Jean Dolores Schmidt, who has been an inspiration to that team, and she's a sister in the religious order of the Sisters of Charity of the Blessed Virgin Mary since 1937. She is the Team Chaplain. She's only ninety-eight years old and she's going to be here tomorrow to open up our Session with a prayer. And so we're looking forward to seeing her tomorrow. Remember, Chicago University is where I happened to go to as an undergraduate, as well as law school. There's a number of Members of the General Assembly who have graduated from Loyola. Their basketball team originally won the National Championship in 1963, and it is the only Illinois school to ever win the NCAA Basketball Title. So we're all grateful and honored for the positive national attention brought to Loyola, as well as the City of Chicago, and we look forward to seeing Loyola's team players and their Coach and their Chaplain tomorrow in the Senate.
