The bill provides assistance up to ten thousand dollars for the costs of funeral for burial services with the amount subject to increase each subsequent year or program. This legislation was brought to me by the Strength to Love Foundation. And I am grateful for the involvement in the creation of this measure. It is named after Mychal Moultry. A four-year-old boy who was shot and killed in the Woodlawn home while getting his hair braided last year. This legislation basically provides funding for those seventeen 9 STATE OF ILLINOIS 102nd GENERAL ASSEMBLY REGULAR SESSION SENATE TRANSCRIPT 98th Legislative Day 3/23/2022 and under who fall victim to gun violence.
