Madam President. As you are well aware, our legislative assistants are, basically, our lifelines when we are here in Springfield and sometimes when we're in the district. And today, is my LA's last day. And I'm very, very sad to see him go, but I'm very, very happy for him because he's not going to be too far away. He's actually joining the Department of Natural Resources, which I know he's very excited about and developing further in his professional career. We've been working on this for a while, to make sure that he has all the opportunities possible. Kevin Romo 6 STATE OF ILLINOIS 103rd GENERAL ASSEMBLY REGULAR SESSION SENATE TRANSCRIPT 15th Legislative Day 2/15/2023 actually joined, I think, Senate staff when he participated in the IL -- ILSIP program, a few years ago and a few years - about a year after that he actually joined me as my legislative assistant here in Springfield, and he's literally been my lifeline for making sure that, literally, all my bills get filed, of which I have a lot, and making sure that I eat because I tend to forget to do that when we're down here. He has served, not just our Springfield office, but he has served my district office and my constituents with so much heart and so much passion and so much dedication. And like I said, I'm very, very sad to see him go. But I know that he's going to be doing incredible things. And I just, I wanted to say that I'm very proud of him. So, thank you all. Help me in congratulating him as we see him off to his next position. But he's going to be back and bothering us, so, I'm just letting you all know this now. He will be talking to all of us about DNR. So, just letting you know, giving you a heads up, but help me in congratulating Kevin Romo, on his last day.

Mattie Hunter (D)

PRESIDING OFFICER: (SENATOR HUNTER) Congratulations Kevin. There being no further business to come before the Senate, the Senate stands adjourned until 10 o'clock on the 16th day of February, 2023. The Senate stands adjourned. 7
