It is with great pleasure that I welcome Yvonne Gaiden. She's a freshman at Northeastern University in Boston and a constituent of my district. She's here today to observe the legislative process. Yvonne is a first-year student studying public health and law with a minor in global health. She's an active member of the 4 STATE OF ILLINOIS 104th GENERAL ASSEMBLY REGULAR SESSION SENATE TRANSCRIPT 21st Legislative Day 3/4/2025 Boston Health Initiative and Women in the Enterprise of Science and Technology, also called WEST. She also recently spent a semester studying in Madrid, so she's passionate about tackling health disparities, and she plans to pursue a master's in public health and law school. So, I have to tell a story about Yvonne really quick. She reached out to my office, in her last year in AP government and advocated for Social Host Ordinance legislation. And I get contacted a lot by students, and I try to return all of the calls or emails. And Evie was one of the only students that ever responded to me. So, I said to her, if you ever want to see the process, please contact my office. And here she is today. So, with young people like Yvonne, our future is very bright. If we can just give her a warm welcome.
