I would appreciate if the Body would help me to welcome my oldest grandson today as a visitor here on the Floor. He's been shadowing me for the last two days, he's the oldest by 30 seconds. So, I think next week his brother will be here as well. I like to do each of the kids separately. But this is Hunter Heinzmann, Hunter's a fourth grader at Opdyke-Belle Rive Elementary School, and he's a standout basketball player. He's -- in fact, one game that I went to, he was the top scorer for that game. So super proud of him. And I asked him yesterday, so when I did the introduction, I'd be able to say a little bit about him, what he wants to do when he leaves school. And he indicated he wants to be a missionary, and he said that for a couple of years, I was just double checking to make sure that hasn't changed. Maybe he wants to be here to fight the good fight. So, if you'll help me welcome him, I'd appreciate it.

Thank you. First of all, I'd like to welcome this Gentleman that's shadowing me today, this is Alexander Doering, he's met quite a few of you already. He's a -- from Tremont and he's a junior, and he needs to meet you later on. Tremont Turk. He's enjoyed debate, basketball, leading worship music at youth group. And he recently returned from a mission trip to Colombia. I'm not going to say the name of it, because it's quite extensive, where he helped install water filters. Alex is looking forward to a peacock bass fishing trip on the Amazon, in Brazil, with his dad soon. He's looking forward to college plans, and he's going to major in business, and he appreciates the opportunity to be here with us today. And please welcome Alex Doering.

President -- Madam President, I would like to have a point of introduction.

I would like to introduce the Prairie Central Elementary School there you guys can stand up. They are all here from the Forest Fairbury area. They've been touring the Capitol here, and along with Senator Bryant's grandson, they're all about eight years old. And as a reminder to our local elections yesterday, they learned that they could become part of a school board or a town council in just the mere 8 years from now, so, or excuse me, 10 years from now at the age of 18. So, that was a fun point. So maybe we'll see some of them in local government. But please help me introduce the Prairie Central Elementary School.

Thank you. Today, I want to recognize a woman from my community and her granddaughter is here -- up there in the -- in the balcony. This is Kelly Bailey and her -- she's the granddaughter of Joan Bailey and Joan Bailey just turned 97 years old. She's from Ferguson, Missouri. She graduated from Lake Saint Luke's Hospital in Missouri and began a nursing career in Carlton Memorial Hospital in Carlton. She took time away from her career 6  STATE OF ILLINOIS 104th GENERAL ASSEMBLY REGULAR SESSION SENATE TRANSCRIPT 29th Legislative Day 4/2/2025 to raise her three kids. And then in the early 60s, went to nursing career in Lincoln, Illinois. She was at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital. She excelled as a clinician, a leader and a mentor, and was selected to attend classes in trauma and intensive care in Springfield. And she used this knowledge, which this is the cool part. She used this knowledge to open the first ever intensive care unit at the hospital. She's trained countless nurses during her time as a supervisor intensive care unit. Those who were lucky enough to train under her have described her as the best and most knowledgeable supervisor and nurse they've ever met. In the 80s, Joan returned to Sangamon State University, received a bachelor's degree in nursing and after intensive care unit being there for two decades, she used that leadership and expertise to open the first ever cardiac rehabilitation unit at Memorial Hospital in Lincoln, Illinois. We want to thank Joan, and she's listening, from her home. And we want to thank Joan for her leadership and service in nursing. And we appreciate those efforts. And thank you for the health care services and offerings you've offered us in Lincoln and Logan County. Thank you so much. Thank you.
