Members of the Illinois Senateg two and a half weeks ago at the University of Illinois in Champaign at a statewide science competition, the Illinois Junior Academy of Science Fair finals were held, With dozens of schools being represented from a1l over the State. Over one thousand students displayed various science projects and papers. And the projects were a1l excellent and the competition was very tough. And it is at this time, my distinct honor to present the winning school from my district, Resurrection High School in Chicago, which won first place. And at this time, I would like to intraduce Carol Beimer from Resurrection High School, who Will introduce the individual student winners.

On Friday of last week on the Dave Baum Show# WBBM, I feel that I was aligned by a fellow Senator. In that I changed my vote and decided that there was not in the best interest of my constituency, and therefore changed my mind. I had never spoken to Senator concerning that bill, or did I give my Word that would support him in that bill. But, yet, he went on the radio and talked about me and mentioned my race, black Senator from Illinois on the south side and a black constituency. Where he went on to say about another Senator that did the same thing, and did not have occasion to mention her race. In that, I thought it was racist. And therefore I respectfully ask for an apology from that Senator.
