Thank you very much, Mr. President. Ladies and Gentlemen of the Senate, I do have some very distinguished guests who are with us today, and I'd like to take this opportunity, if I might, to -- to introduce them. You know, for nineteen years have -- serving in thls Body, it has been my pleasure to recognize each of the Members of the Senate when they had their high school championship team come to this Body. For the first time in my nineteen years, I have that distinguished honor today, to introduce the champions from Staunton, Illinois, who are the Class A champions ln Champaign this -- this past tWo weeks, and I'd like to present them to you today. So I Wish you would join me in recognizing the champions from Staunton, Illinois. It's quite interesting, I mlght add; Senator Watson, who is a basketball fan - Who I just saw a minute ago -- a number of the sportswriters, I guess, or no - - no sportswriter really gave this team any opportunity to win the State Championship this year. As a matter of fact, they weren't even ranked or rated, I guess, along their way to -- to their victory. And it is again, I guess, the Cinderella story; is something that they certainly will remember a11 of their lives. It is certainly something that the coaches, the staff and the school Will remember all throughout the history of the school. And you were gracious enouqh this past week to pass a Senate Joint Resolution 33 on behalf of the team, and if your -- With your indulgence, I'd like to read again for these young people what We said.
