This is the same subject as the last bill that Was passed, and this bill attempts to correct a problem that we have right now where we have a different date for the applicatlon for the senior assessment tax exemption than we do for other senior exemptions . And because of this d ifferent date z we find that many seniors are missing out on filing for thelr exemption . And this comes to us from ehe -- from the assesso rs ' association , which Would give the local assessor the flexibility to confo rm the date to the later date and make it consistent u ith the other senior tax exemptions , such as the Senior Homestead Exemption.
