STATE OF ILLINOIS 91ST GENERAL ASSEMBLY REGULAR SESSION SENATE TRANSCRIPT 9th Legislative Day May 5, 1999 Thank you, Mr. President, Ladies and Gentlemen of the Senate. This amendment came at the suggestion of Senator Dudycz, and it allows, where a police officer wants to register his or her vehicle to the headquarters that they work, also to be able to take into account and perhaps register the automobile of somebody else who is living at that residence with the police officer. And it comes at the suggestion of police groups. It's really technical in nature, but does change the bill a little bit.

Thank you. Senator Shaw, this allows individuals, other than just the police officer, if automobiles are registered in someone else's name at the police officer's residence, to also include those vehicles. In other words, perhaps if the vehicle is under the name of the spouse of the police officer, the spouse's vehicle would also be allowed to be registered at the headquarters of the police department.
