A Message from Respicio Vazquez, State Superintendent of Education, dated April the 30th, 2002. This memorandum is in reference to the fourteenth report submitted to the General Assembly detailing applications for waivers and modifications of mandates contained in the School and administrative rule -- the School Code and administrative rules. The report contains fifty-seven waiver applications that are subject to review and consideration by the General Assembly. I believe that three of these requests merit serious review and recommend that they be disapproved. In addition, I am asking that if any physical education waiver requests are approved that they be approved for only one year.
