It is my honor to remind you that today is our 8 STATE OF ILLINOIS 97th GENERAL ASSEMBLY REGULAR SESSION SENATE TRANSCRIPT 108th Legislative Day 5/1/2012 international cultural exchange with the Republic of Turkey. We have a reception this afternoon at the Secretary of State's Office from 5:30 to 7:30. We encourage all of you to come and stop by. But right now what I would like to do is introduce a - - special guests from Turkey. If you'll recall, two years ago we passed a resolution that created the Joint Task Force on Turkish and Illinois Relations. The mission of that Task Force is to strengthen and continue the State of Illinois' friendship, business, and cultural ties with the Republic of Turkey. And with us today, we have the Consul General of the Republic of Turkey, Fatih Yildiz, and we also have a member of Parliament, Asim Mollazade. Yes, well, I'm sorry to have to inform the Body today that our friend and colleague, Senator John Millner, just lost his wife a short time ago. It was shortly after the birth of their second grandchild. She had the opportunity to see the picture of the baby, who was born in Israel. And it seems that that was enough comfort that she could let go. And I think all of us that have talked and -- and texted with John during all of this know how -- with what grace he's handled this situation, always wanting to make sure everyone else around him was comfortable. So I know we all extend our thoughts and our prayers to John and his family right now. Thank you.
