I'd like to introduce the British Consul General Stephen Bridges. Stephen Bridges became Consul General in Chicago in August of 2013. Prior to this post, he was in London leading on human resources and workforce issues for the Foreign & Commonwealth Office. That followed a four-year stint in the private sector, working in the field of renewable energy and natural resources. He has had substantial appointments throughout Asia, as British Ambassador to Cambodia, Deputy High Commissioner, Consul General and Trade & Investment Director in Bangladesh. Mr. Bridges holds an international relations degree from the University of London and an MA in Asia Pacific Studies from the University of Leeds. As an aside, while I'm sure that his "football" isn't the same as ours, it should be noted that he is proudly known as a keen supporter of the Plymouth Argyle Football Club. I would like to have the Senate join me in welcoming and recognizing the Illinois 4-H Legislative Connection. I think we see members here, if they'd stand, in their green shirts, from the University of Illinois Extension 4-H Legislative Connection being held here this day and tomorrow. There are thirty-one 4-H members from the Illinois 4-H Youth Leadership Team who will be speaking and visiting with Members of the House and the Senate. These are youth from twenty-two counties throughout the State and they represent almost one hundred and sixty thousand 4-H participants from all hundred and two counties. Working with this -- the teens this week are Patricia McGlaughlin, Deb Stocker and Erica Austin of the University of Illinois Extension, and Jeanne Harland, Jerry Hicks and Pam Weber, members of the Extension Partners. So I -- I'd like to have the Senate join me in welcoming these fine young people to the Senate today.

I know that others have gone other years, but I don't think they were all as fortunate to have someone who was as familiar with both Chinese and American cultures. So it really, really made the trip interesting. So we're happy to host Joy today to thank her for her service.
