"The House will be in order and Members will please be in their chairs. We shall be led in prayer today by Pastor Jacson Moody, who is with Grace United Methodist Church in Springfield. Reverend Moody is a guest of Representative Scherer. Members and guests are asked to refrain from starting their laptops, turn off all cell phones and pagers, and rise for the invocation and Pledge of Allegiance. Pastor Moody."

Pastor Moody

"Let us pray. Spirit of the living God fall fresh on us. Oh Lord, how excellent is your name in all the earth. I stand in the gap on behalf of the persons that are gathered in this great assembly. The valiant patriots that have unselfishly offered up themselves to serve in a systemic experiment that was developed of the people, by the people, and for the people. We exalt your magnificent name today as this great gathering of duly elected men and women that stand as the voice of their constituents. The psalmist once wrote, how good and how pleasant it is for brothers and sisters to dwell together in unity. Lord, I implore you make us one. Unify the hearts and minds of the faithful that have gathered on behalf of the very least of the persons that are back in their home districts. Let the concerns of even the most isolated village, from the bluffs of the Rock River to the pristine scenery of the freedom waters of the vast Ohio River, from the mighty Mississippi to the pristine shore lines of Lake Michigan. Lord, make this Body that is gathered here today into one in the hope that there shall be none that are marginalized, none that is dismissed as other. Provide the courage to be bombastic rather than quiet on issues of injustice and inequality. Remind this Body that they stand on 10100019.docx 1 STATE OF ILLINOIS 101st GENERAL ASSEMBLY HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES TRANSCRIPTION DEBATE 19th Legislative Day 2/26/2019 the shoulders of giants, those that have made the ultimate sacrifice for freedom. We are here, here to provide a voice to the voiceless, here to provide hope to the hopeless, here to ascribe an identity to the issues that plague districts throughout this amazing state. Lord, we seek your face on this day to help this Body make headlines for being excellent, for exceeding the expectations of the people in which they represent, for being the dreamers, for being the visionaries and the architects of an ever evolving Illinois that provides liberty and justice for all. Lord, we offer this prayer on behalf of your servants underneath the dome, Amen."

So all of us sweat together and I believe that makes us capable of working together. Going up 95 floors was quite exhausting Sunday, so all for a good cause and my calves are still sore."
