With U of I taking an 5 STATE OF ILLINOIS 101st GENERAL ASSEMBLY REGULAR SESSION SENATE TRANSCRIPT 20th Legislative Day 3/12/2019 early -- well, soon to be an early exit from March Madness, I'm glad to see other winners from East Central Illinois. All right. You may see some familiar faces, Ladies and Gentlemen of the Senate. I am thrilled to welcome the Schlarman Academy girls' basketball team to the Senate today, from Danville, Illinois. The Hilltoppers may look familiar because they just won their second consecutive State championship last month. I'm extremely proud of these talented young women and what they were able to accomplish through dedication, teamwork, and -- and excellent guidance from their coaches. They have a string of accolades. We have Division I commitments. We have First Team All-Staters behind me. We have an McDonald's All American. But if you followed them all year, you saw that not one -- any one individual leads to championships; it's teamwork. And this is what we saw all year here at Schlarman Academy. Their drive and strong work ethic, it will continue to serve them well throughout their lives and it's the reason they are the pride of East Central Illinois. Athletically and academically, this team has proven themselves to be an unbeatable combination of talent that reflects positively on their school, our community in Danville, and the great State of Illinois. So, congratulations again, and I hope to see Coach Peoples come back next year to the Senate Chamber for his third straight consecutive title for the Lady Hilltoppers. That's a -- that's a high -- a high burden to put on him, but two is pretty high to begin with. So, we're so proud of the entire Schlarman community, the cheerleaders, the administrators, the teachers, and of course the players and coach. Congratulations on yet another impressive year.
