Thank you, Madam President. I rise today to recognize that the Assyrian New Year is upon us. And on this of most ancient of celebrations, the Akitu celebrated for thousands of years by the Assyrians. Let me wish all of our Assyrian American community members a happy and healthy New Year. The Akitu is celebrated in spring for a reason. It is a time of the renewal that springs brings over the cold of the winter. It is a time of hope and optimism, of a renewed sense of overcoming and rising from challenges. The Assyrian people most definitely know about challenges. They have survived centuries of difficulties and have overcome them to celebrate another year, another Akitu with a renewed sense of optimism for what the future holds. I wish you all a happy and prosperous 6774 New Year. May the spirit of Akitu always be with you to give you everlasting hope. Thank you, Madam President.
