Thank you, Mr. President…(microphone cutoff)…Senate. Senate Resolution 1463 is a recommendation of the South Asian Cardiovascular Center at Advocate Heart Institute of Advocate Health Care. It recognizes March 12, 2016, as "Red Sari Day" for South Asian Cardiovascular Disease Awareness in Illinois. My hope is that this resolution will bring awareness that -- South Asians are individuals who originated from Bangladesh, India, and Pakistan, that research shows they are at a higher risk for heart attack and stroke in comparison to the general population. So this resolution designates February 5th, which is the nationally recognized day, to wear red in honor of showing our support for women in the fight against heart disease.
